In our News from the Clinic section we share with you interesting cases that we have recently observed within our Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Antonio, and Daytona Beach partner-clinics. 

In our section Introducing New CMMPs we would like readers to applaud our former students who have finished our Medical Massage Certification program and are now on the road to their personal professional quest and clinical successes.

In the Medical Massage section of JMS we have published two new articles:

1. We consider the article, “How Real Science Defeated The ‘New’ Pain Concept” written by Dr. Ross Turchaninov as a very important piece for the entire MT profession. It reviews a recent breakthrough study which additionally clarifies the mechanisms of pain formation in the human body. We see this article as so important because of the widespread incorrect presentation of so called ‘new’ pain science by some therapists and educators. Such misrepresentation has a negative clinical effect on the entire profession and becomes one of the obstacles for MT to become part of modern medicine.

2. “Oncology Massage Part II: Massage Therapy In Cases Of Established Anti-Cancer Therapy” by Dr. Jeffrey M. Cullers, DC, BS, CMMP. This is Part II of the original article published in Issue #2, 2017 of JMS and it reviews treatment options therapists have when they work on a cancer patient after surgery while the patient is going through chemotherapy and radiation. 

In our Case of the Month section, one of our current students, Sally Ramsey BBA, LMT shares with our readers a very interesting clinical case from the Massage Connections clinic in Sarasota, Florida.

Finally, as usual you will find a lot of helpful information in our Good Apples/Bad Apples section.
