          In our Person of the Month section we published interview with Ben Keyes, LMT from Florida. JMS’s readers chose his submission, Medical Massage vs. Acute Tennis Elbow, as the 2022 JMS International Case of the Month Contest winner! 

          In the Clinical Contributions section, SOMI’s former student, Steve Smith, LMT, CMMP, contributed an exceptional clinical case to JMS. His article, Medical Massage in the treatment of Chronic Visceral Disorder, is fascinating to read and it reinforces the critical clinical value of Medical Massage for treating complex visceral abnormalities. 

          In the Science of Medical Massage section, we continue to highlight Periosteal Massage with Part IV: Clinical Foundations of Periostal Massage, by Dr. Ross Turchaninov, which discusses periosteal reflex zones, their evaluation, and treatment strategies.   

          In our Case of the Month section, we published the clinical case, Medical Massage with Aromatherapy vs Postsurgical Nerve Trauma by SOMI’s current student, Tianna Beebe, LMT from Wisconsin. Even as a new SOMI student, Tianna is applying her initial training and demonstrating exceptional skills in the evaluation and comprehensive approach for successful treatment of a complex clinical case.
