The basic foundation of modern Segment-Reflex Massage treatment is the Glezer/Dalicho zones. Two German physicians, Dr. Glezer, MD and Dr. Dalicho, MD, successfully mapped the abnormalities in the soft tissues in cases of different somatic and visceral disorders. The original publication of these maps back in the 1950s caused the greatest breakthrough in the clinical application of Segment-Reflex Massage.
As was pointed out by the authors, the maps do not represent the exact location of all possible abnormalities in the skin, connective tissue and skeletal muscles in each type of presented disorders. However, these maps point to the areas of the body which are more likely to be affected and should be carefully examined and treated.
Glezer/Dalicho zones in the cases of musculoskeletal disorders are represented in the 1st volume of the Medical Massage textbook.
