SEMINAR PROGRAM
Day 1. Medical Massage Protocol for Rotator Cuff Syndrome/Frozen Shoulder
Injury or tension within rotator cuff muscles or Rotator Cuff Syndrome (RCS) is a leading cause of Adhesive Capsulitis, also known as Frozen Shoulder (FS). Rehabilitation of the full-blown FS is a very complex and lengthy process, and very frequently, the patients end up with very controversial surgeries. That is why correct management of RCS is a vital therapy that prevents debilitating complications.
During the class, we discuss the complex anatomy and physiology of the shoulder joint, step-by-step evaluation of each component of the rotator cuff mechanism, and examination of humeral-scapular rhythm. Finally, in the hands-on part of the class, we will discuss the Medical Massage Protocol for the treatment of Rotator Cuff Syndrome.
Day 2. Medical Massage Protocol for TMJ Dysfunction. Positioning Vertigo
The first part of the class is a detailed discussion of the anatomy and physiology of the Temporomandibular Joint as well as all causes of its dysfunction. We will cover a step-by-step evaluation of the soft tissues in the suboccipital space, the temporal area, and the TMJ area. This part of the class finishes step by step by step application of Medical Massage protocol to eliminate tension in the soft tissues, which control TMJ function and decompress the joint itself to restore the patient’s normal bite.
The second part of the class explains the complex chain of events that triggers Positioning Vertigo and presents highly effective Semont’s Protocol to eliminate it by resetting otoliths in the inner ear.
Day 3. Medical Massage Protocols for Middle Back Pain. Intercostal Nerve Neuralgia
The class covers tension in the middle back muscles: lower trapezius, paravertebrals, and rhomboids. The important part of the class is the interactions between ribs and intercostal muscles as well as their role in Intercostal Nerve Neuralgia.
We start with all major players’ anatomy, physiology, and function, including respiration. We then cover soft tissue evaluation of the middle back and chest layer by layer and all Medical Massage protocols to eliminate tension in the soft tissues layer by layer, including respiratory techniques to decompress affected soft tissues. We also discuss homework for the patients and future preventive measures.
