SEMINAR PROGRAM
Day 1. Medical Massage Protocol for Pectoralis Major and Minor Muscle Syndrome
We start this class with SOMI’s new subject – evaluation and treatment of patients with tension and spasms in pectoralis muscles. From mimicking Cardiac Pain in the form of Fase Cardialgia Syndrome to various abnormalities in the function of the upper extremities, tension in pectoralis muscles is indeed very frequently mistreated with somatic syndrome. We will discuss all anatomical and pathological aspects as well as detailed evaluation and hands-on application of Medical Massage protocol.
Day 2. Medical Massage Protocol for Tennis/Golfer’s Elbow. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
First part of the class covers very common abnormalities in the function of the elbow Lateral Epicondylitis a.k.a. Tennis Elbow and Medial Epicondylitis a.k.a. Golfer’s Elbow. Nature of abnormalities as well as evaluation of the soft tissues of the elbow and corresponding Medical Massage protocols are discussed in detail. Homework for the patients as well as future preventive measures are presented.
Second part of the class dedicated to the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. We discuss difference between local and reflex variants of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, soft tissue evaluation and Medical Massage protocol for the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Homework for the patients as well as future preventive measures are discussed as well.
Day 3. Medical Massage Protocols for Iliopsoas Muscle Syndrome
Aside from causing lower back pain and various visceral dysfunctions in the abdominal cavity, the tension in the Iliopsoas Muscle is a significant contributor to anterior thigh, knee, and leg pain. This is due to the compression of the femoral or/and obturator nerves in the femoral and obturator canal. SOMI is proud to offer a new class in hands-on training for evaluating and treating tension in the Iliopsoas Muscle.
Correct treatment approach is not only effective but also safe, focusing on correcting the misconceptions about iliopsoas muscle work through the abdominal cavity, a practice advocated by many educators. We will equip you with the knowledge and skills to avoid unnecessary trauma to the abdominal organs while delivering stable clinical results, ensuring the safety and confidence of both you and your patients.
